SUMMARY:Dental Implants... Friend or Foe? with Dr. Omar Usman
DESCRIPTION:Dinner will be provided for attendees. \nCourse Outline\nOsseointegration in Dentistry began in the mid 1960s and since then dental implant therapy has become a mainstay in everyday practice. Achieving osseointegration is no longer the challenge. Maintenance of integration beyond the torque test however\, is a conundrum. Using case examples\, this lecture will focus on challenges associated with dental implant treatment as it relates to planning\, surgical placement\, restoration and maintenance of dental implants. \nSpeaker Bio\nDr. Usman graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto (DDS) in 2000 and subsequently pursued a hospital residency program (GPR) at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He then returned to the University of Toronto for his MSc and clinical training in Periodontology (2004). Dr. Usman currently maintains his private practice (limited to Periodontics and Implant therapy) in Whitby\, Ontario with particular interest in periodontal soft and hard tissue regeneration and grafting. Dr. Usman is also an Associate in Dentistry involved in the didactic and clinical training of Graduate Periodontology residents at the University of Toronto. \nRefund Policy\nStrict deadline of October 15th.\nNon-DODS members – $100 (non-refundable)\nDODS members – Free with $50 refundable deposit – Deposit will be returned after confirmation of attendance.\nCancellations after October 15th at 12noon will not be refunded. \nREGISTER HERE
