DESCRIPTION:AN OVERVIEW OF DENTAL WEAR \nSpeaker: Dr. Mario Rotella \nTooth wear is the loss of healthy structure for reasons other than caries. Tooth wear may decrease proper chewing ability and noticeably change the\nsmile’s appearance. Dental wear is usually caused by: abrasion\, attrition\,\nabfraction and erosion. \nThe purpose of this lecture is to review: \n– the causes and patterns of dental wear \n– the clinical treatment modalities for treating the generalized and\nlocalized\, mostly anterior\, dental wear. \nRegistration Link TBA: \n  \nSpeaker Bio: \nMario Rotella is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (F.R.C.D.\n(C))\, board-certified specialist in Prosthodontics. \nDr. Rotella received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Siena\n(Italy)\, where he graduated with summa cum laude. \nHe completed a 2-year Advance Education in General Dentistry program at the\nEastman Institute for Oral Health\, University of Rochester\, Rochester\, NY. At the\nsame institution\, he completed a 3-year Prosthodontic program. \nDr. Rotella focuses his practice\, in Toronto\, concentrating on the treatment of\ncomplex cases of aesthetic and functional rehabilitation on natural dentition and\nimplants\, with emphasis on veneers\, crowns\, bridges and dentures.
